Jaime01

just finished up a fabulous weekend staying with robert’s family in bad oldesloe! robert’s pretty much the same as when we first met him, except he told me he doesn’t rap or beat box too much anymore – he’s a workin man now…Jaime02

his family was really sweet as always as well.. i spoke german with them quite a bit, but whenever they spoke with each other, i had a little bit of trouble understanding since they are always speaking with a mixture ofJaime03 polish and german! i got by fine though.. and i got polish food yummmm kluskiiiii :)
on saturday, i traveled with robert and his girlfriend marina (who was really sweet! she was originally polish too and she spoke excellent english) to meet up with basti in lübeck.. we walked around the city for a bit and got ice cream before we all headed to travemünde, this harbor that hosts a fair for 2 weeks in the summer every year.. we had a really nice time just wandering around, looking at all the street performers, shops, and german food..
after travemünde, we said goodbye to basti, and headed back home.. then we had a quick bite to eat and cleaned up before we met up with marina and robert’s friend wolfgang to go to a club.. we hung out at marina’s apartment for a while first though, getting ourselves into the party mindset ahem ahem… i think we got to the club somewhere in between 1 and 2 – it was huge!! there were three levels and three different areas for hip hop, schlager (german folky dance music, that most germans seem to loathe), and techno.. it cost like 5 euros to get in, but along with your entrance you also got a 2 euro coupon for drink or food, so it was a pretty good deaJaime04l.. i think we ended up finally getting back home around 5 am. then we slept till lunchtime (that’s when we had the yummy kluski) and i hung out with the fam until we had to get back to hamburg for my train.

then lukas picked me up from the hauptbahnhof in düsseldorf.. there was a little confusion at first, so i had to call him to tell him where i was, but i saw my ukrainian friend from the institut while i was waiting so it wasn’t so bad.. when we got home, philip and nick were both there and stefanie had baked a cherry cake.. then philip, nick, lukas, and i were going to watch a bootleg version of the hangover, but couldn’t get it to work, so we watched 3 episodes of how i met your mother instead…
Jaime05now i’m getting all ready for the new week.. i finished my german hw on the bus and now i just have to run and try to work off all the cake that these germans have been feeding me! tschußeeeeeeeeeee <3
